Honesty is what we are striving for with our Blog, and we want to say, upon mixed reviews from our check-in on Four Square, we considered leaving prior placing our order.  But life is an adventure so...

We enjoyed nacho's and salsa for a starter.

Randy ordered a Beef Burrito, Chili Relleno, and a Taco- not bad but those Four Square reviews weigh heavy on our mind.

 

 

 

I went with plain and simple- Chicken Taco's- I was able to eat one of them, but reading those reviews really stole my appitite!!

 

I don't think we will go back, i didn't find anything wrong with the food, but our appitates were gone!

The races were rained out, we start home Sunday and ride the first 200 miles in the rain- this stinks!!

Looking for lunch on the "Food Network On The Road" app in search of our next adventure. 

We start with something "Guy" enjoyed according to the menu - Irish Nachos, we were both surprised and would like to see other establishments do something like this- YUM!!

Randy again goes with one of Guy's favorites - the Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, and a
Salad.  He really like the chicken, very moist!!

I tried the Grilled Chicken with French Fries, and Mac 'n Cheese- it was all good.

The Food Channel did not let us down, the place was neat, and the food was good- small town kinda diner, we would go back just for the Irish Nacho's!!!

Dinner Saturday evening is also a return visit, tonight, our friends Woody & Linda join us!  The place is packed, and from what we remember, and have seen,  it is always like this!

Randy orders the Oyster Combo Platter - A selection of 3 Guinness Oysters topped with a creamy sauce, breadcrumbs & a blend of cheeses, 3 Bunratty Castle Oysters with spinach, cheese, & breadcrumbs; and 4 lightly breaded, deep-fried Oysters. He really seemed to enjoy them!

I ordered D'Arcy's Famous Shoe - 1/2 Pint-  Pony Shoe!  Hey this is what we came for!!!  Grilled Chicken served over Texas toast, piled high with fries and topped with our unforgettable homemade cheese sauce.  I also had them add tomato.  This is good!! And a lot of food, you can order it with just about anything, if you are there - why not give it a shot!!

Woody and Linda both order burgers, and they both said they were really good.

 

They also ordered a Chocolate Chunk Brownie- and boy did they enjoy it!! "fudgy texture of a brownie with chunks of chocolate, OMG, this Brownie is so good!"  It looked really good too.

 

Our waitress was great, we ended up sitting at the bar because there was  a 45 minute wait, and just a word of caution, these stools are tall, I struggled to get onto the chair and slipped getting out- Ouch!

Another stop added to our AMA weekend, we like it, we will go back, and highly recommend it!!

Randy had to return to defend his title, during our last visit he ate 2 bowls of the Firebrand Chili and his name was added to the wall:

 

The chili comes in Touch, Mild, Hot, and Firebrand - you must complete the bowl of Firebrand and show the employees your empty  bowl to have your added to the wall. 

 

 

And Randy has done it again!!

 

I of course go for something boring- a hot dog, because the last time we were here I ordered the burger and it was a "loose" burger (sloppy-joe type meat on a bun)- YUCK!!!

 

Will this become race weekend regular stop,?I am guessing yes!  Randy will want to continue to defend his place on the wall.

 

And, it is fun to watch everyone around you trying to eat this chili, they are video taping, taking pictures, and there is  ALWAYS a line waiting to try a bowl!!!

Whenever we are heading to Springfield, IL for the AMA Flat Track Race, we ALWAYS stop at the Beef House!

Everything is fresh, and sooooo good.

We start with Soup- I have Cream of Broccoli, and Randy has Vegetable. Both are really good, so good we inhaled them and forgot to take a picture. 

Randy also enjoyed the salad bar- which is fully stocked!

 

For dinner Randy ordered the Filet and Baked Potato.

 

I ordered the 4oz Ribeye with a Baked Potato.

 

Little shout out' for the rolls- AMAZING!!

 

The Beef House is at mile marker 4, if you miss it you will be sorry, this place has the best beef, rolls, and soup you are ever going to eat!!!

Look for us on Memorial Day and Labor Day  weekends - this is a STOP WORTH MAKING

on our way to and from the  race!!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Market Garden Brewery

Lunch today, Saturday, May 18th, was a real adventure- we set out for the West Side Market in Cleveland- (thinking lunch would be similar to the North Market in Columbus) what we found was very different. 

We did enjoy doing some shopping at the West Side Market- lunch, well that was another story- fresh everything was available- bread, bakery goods, cheese, meats (rabbit, duck, fish, pork, red meat), the list goes on and on, all fruit and vegetables, flowers- it was all there just not ready to eat!

Randy being Randy was not going to wait in line for the Gyro that brought us to Cleveland.

What we found was the Market Garden Brewery!  The patio was huge and the seating was odd but it worked, we had the pleasure of sitting with some really nice people- a young lady who was from the area, a young man who had some great recommendations for future visits and another young man who would be running a marathon on Sunday (Thanks to all of them for the conversation, you made lunch fun).  Also dinning at the Brewery was the quarterback from the Browns. 

About lunch...
We started with Homemade Tortilla Chips with Salsa Verde & Guacamole, and one we weren't sure of, but boy was it good! The chips were really good!!!

Randy ordered the Battered Shrimp Tacos with Salsa Rojo, Guac, Pico De Gallo, and Floured Tortilla! He says- "This ain't Taco Bell!!!  These things are GOOD!"

I ordered something on the simple side- Market Garden Ohio Beef Burger with Fries.  The burger was good, I enjoyed it- the bun was a little over done, and so were the fries- but over all not a bad deal!

 

Our server Lauren was very nice, kept our drinks full as we soaked up the sun!  This place was busy, a real crowd pleaser. 

Would we go back, yes- there were things on the menu we would like to try, everything we saw looked good. 

As for the Market- we had to lug our purchases several blocks to the car (including a watermelon) I would suggest you take shopping bags or a wagon- cause you can't walk away empty handed!!!

A little slice of  Authentic Italian Cuisine Heaven!

Where do we start, this place was unbelievable!!!!

We begin with an appitizer - Bruschetta - homemade bread grilled and topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic, romano cheese & olive oil.  REALLY good stuff, "KILLER!"

 

Randy orders - Brascioli- Layers of sirlion beef stuffed with mozzarella, povolone, romano cheese, salami, and capicola ham- baked in tomato sauce,  and a side of pasta.  "Never had anything like this before, the flavors really blended together well, can't wait to come back and try something new!"

 

 

I ordered the Gnocchi- Traditional potato dumplings tossed in homemade tomato sauce, only I asked they replace the tomato with Alfrado Sauce.  This dish was "sooo good, my favorite things potatos and pasta, and the sauce was creamy but not heavy- I am actually looking forward to leftovers!"

 

 

This is a family owned restaurant and we had the pleasure of meeting Frank & Judy Scali and we want to let them know - we WILL be back! 

 

If you are in Reynoldsburg- Scali's is where you need to be, we would & will recommend it everyone!
